What the session becomes depends on who is in it.
The name finds its root in music — Jazz, Drum & Bass, Reggae, Jam Bands. The term was specifically coined by LTJ Bukem for a series of sessions and performances he ran through the 1990s and early 2000s. The sets were long-form, built around a theme, and took shape throughout the evening — what they became was determined by who was in the room.
For Nomadic Foundry, Progression Sessions are a series of meetings and gatherings anchored on a central theme. Each year carries a theme. Each session has its own signature.
Three formats:
Resilience.
Resilience is how a system behaves when things stop going to plan. Infrastructure that has to adapt while it keeps running. Teams carrying long arcs of responsibility while conditions shift. Organizations trying to learn in flight.
